Dr Sian Kerr is a fully qualified and accredited Clinical Psychologist, registered with the HCPC and chartered by the BPS. She is an experienced clinician who specialises in working with adults.

Sian offers both short-term and longer-term individual therapy. Her approach is integrative and is tailored to suit your particular needs.  She uses a collaborative approach to help you explore past and current issues and understand what has been holding you back from living your life more fully.  She aims to help you find self-help tools to gain relief from distress and improve well-being and develop resources to bring about some positive changes.  Throughout her clinical work, Sian draws on a variety of evidence-based approaches including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT, Phase-based interventions, Compassion focused approaches and Mindfulness.

Sian has a particular interest in working with trauma presentations and supporting people to make sense of how past events (both historical and more recent) may be continuing to affect them.  She specialises in treating the underlying traumas and addressing ongoing behavioural coping patterns which have become unhelpful.  Sian is particularly interested in integrating EMDR and ACT when working with trauma.

Sian completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology in 1999 at the University of Durham and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2010 at the University of Edinburgh. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and specialises in individual therapy with adults.
