Are you a regulated profession?

Clinical Psychologists are registered as Practitioner Psychologists, with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). They retain a register of professionals who meet HCPC standards for training, skills, behaviour, and health. Where can I find further information on professional standards?

The British Psychological Society (BPS) promotes excellence in Psychology. The highest level of psychological expertise is reflected in Chartership. Our Clinical Psychologists are Chartered Members of the Society. For further information please see: BPS

How do I book an appointment?

Please use the Contact page to book an appointment, or email info@aberdeenshirecp.com. You are welcome to get in touch if you would like to informally discuss your requirements to see how we can help. We reply to all enquiries promptly.

Do you accept third-party referrals?

With the consent of the client, we accept referrals from health care professionals, health insurers, rehabilitation companies, businesses, voluntary agencies, and solicitors.

How much will it cost?

For self-funding clients seeing a Clinical Psychologist, our rate is £110, based on a 55-minute therapeutic hour. For self-funding clients seeing a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology, the rate is £85, based on a 55-minute therapeutic hour. If your treatment is being funded by an employer, solicitor, or other organisation, the financial liability falls to the third party, who can contact us directly to discuss our fee structure.

How do I make payment?

Upon booking an appointment you will be emailed details on how to make payment, usually by bank transfer.

How do I use health insurance?

Please let us know at the point of booking if you have health insurance, and we will guide you through the process for accessing this.

How often will I be seen?

Following an assessment, we will discuss your treatment options. There is flexibility, depending on your needs. Generally, this is weekly, but we also offer fortnightly sessions. Medicolegal appointments are usually a single session.

What if I need to cancel?

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice of a cancellation. The full fee will be payable for short notice.

Where is your location?

We have offices in Crichiebank Business Centre, which is a peaceful, rural setting on the outskirts of Inverurie close to the A96. Our offices are wheelchair accessible. There is a welcoming and comfortable reception area. See Google Map.

How do I get there?

From Aberdeen and the south take the A96 north towards Inverness, at the roundabout signposted Port Elphinstone (Inverurie), take the third exit onto Elphinstone Road / B993 and turn immediately right, just past the BP Garage, onto Mill Road. Continue 0.2 miles, through the yellow gates, and Crichiebank Business Centre is on the left. Ample free parking is available onsite. Inverurie also has good bus and train links, please see individual operators for further details.

Is my information confidential?

What if I need help now?

We are not able to offer crisis services. If you need help straight away, please contact your GP, NHS24, or a Crisis Line. Please see the Advice section.

Do you provide ASD/ADHD diagnoses?

We do not offer these services at present.
